★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di San Giorgio dei Genovesi si trova non distante dalla zona del porto e della Cala di Palermo.
Non ho potuto visitare la chiesa al suo interno perchè era chiusa. Si trova in una zona piuttosto degradata e mal servita.
Se capitate da queste parti fateci un giro, altrimenti non vale la pena andarci appositamente.
The church of San Giorgio dei Genovesi is located not far from the port area and the Cala di Palermo.
I could not visit the church inside because it was closed. It is located in a rather degraded and poorly served area.
If you happen to be in these parts give us a ride, otherwise it is not worth going there specifically.

La tipologia basilicale adottata, con tre navate e cappelle laterali incassate nello spessore murario, indica la volontà di erigere un edificio ambizioso, sul piano economico e architettonico, che solo gli Ordini religiosi più importanti e le Nazioni più ricche, come appunto quella dei Genovesi, poteva adottare nella Palermo cinquecentesca.
