In quegli anni il sacerdote Antonio De Conca per volontà del Vescovo di Gaeta Giovanni IV De Ganges poneva le basi giuridiche per costruire, nella contrada Spiaggia, una chiesa secondo i dettami del Concilio Tridentino e
alle esigenze della comunità di pescatori che stava crescendo. Essa avrebbe sostituito l’antica Cappella di S. Andrea.
Il Vescovo Pietro De Oña elevò la nuova chiesa a parrocchia intorno al 1620. Memoranda la duplice visita del Beato Pio IX, esule a Gaeta nel maggio 1849.
Gravi furono i danni subiti nel novembre 1943, per i noti fatti bellici.
Il 12 ottobre 1998 dopo un ulteriore restauro è stata riconsacrata dall’Arcivescovo Pier Luigi Mazzoni. Oggi è di monito a circa 1500 famiglie che popolano i quartieri di Calegna, La Piana, Monte Tortona...
L insegnamento della catechesi è di stampo classico in via di ammodernamento con mentalità sufficientemente aperta alla novità

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Non è la mia parrocchia ma è comunque della diocesi. Ha una bella comunità, purtroppo è situata , in un posto poco felice, su una strada molto trafficata e con poco parcheggio. È attrezzata per i portatori di handicap. Le feste principali parrocchiali sono la festività di S. Anna e quella di S. Carlo Borromeo a cui la parrocchia è dedicata
It is not my parish but it belongs to the diocese anyway. It has a nice community, unfortunately it is located, in an unfortunate place, on a very busy road and with little parking. It is equipped for the handicapped. The main parish feasts are the feast of S. Anna and that of S. Carlo Borromeo to which the parish is dedicated
