★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Così come il Monastero di S.Eugenio proprio di fronte,o il Monastero di S.Abundio a poca distanza più a sud,anche la chiesa di S.Bartolomeo sorgeva oltre la Tressa, lungo la strada che collegava Siena con la Maremma,in posizione elevata e protetta,e in una zona naturalmente ricca di acqua e sorgenti (al contrario dell'antica Siena).
Scendendo a pochi passi dal sagrato della chiesa ancora oggi ad esempio si può ad esempio vedere una vecchia fonte,rustica,ancora frequentata
Il fianco nord ovest della chiesa conserva una piccola parte del paramento murario trecentesco,con i suoi blocchi di pietra e una monofora.

 As well as the Monastery of S.Eugenio just opposite, or the Monastery of S.Abundio a short distance further south, also the church of S.Bartolomeo rose beyond the Tressa, along the road that connected Siena with the Maremma, in a elevated and protected, and in an area naturally rich in water and springs (as opposed to ancient Siena).
Going down a few steps from the churchyard, still today, for example, you can see an old, rustic, still popular source.
The northwest side of the church retains a small part of the fourteenth-century wall face, with its stone blocks and a single lancet window.
