Per chi transita sulla vecchia via che in antichità era l’unico punto di passaggio sull’Avisio nella valle dell’Adige e bivio per l'antica strada che saliva in val di Cembra non può passare inosservata subito dopo il ponte di ferro in territorio lavisano, una piccola chiesetta dedicata alla Madonna di Loreto che ha una storia singolare.
Citata nel “Libro della Vicinanza di Lavis” del 1702, la chiesa fu costruita agli inizi del 1700 su iniziativa di Giovanni Battista Svaldi, un locandiere che gestiva l’osteria dell’Aquila d’Oro che sorgeva nell’attuale via Matteotti. Per volere del suo costruttore la chiesa venne dedicata alla Madonna di Loreto e fu consacrata dal vescovo di Trento, Giovanni Michele Spaur, il 28 giugno del 1705.
A pochi passi appena sopra si trova il giardino dei Ciucioi in via di ultimazione con dei lavori di ristrutturazione.

For those traveling on the old road which in ancient times was the only crossing point on the Avisio in the Adige valley and a junction for the ancient road that led up to the Cembra Valley, it cannot pass unnoticed immediately after the iron bridge in the territory of Lavis , a small church dedicated to the Madonna of Loreto which has a singular history.
Cited in the "Book of the Vicinity of Lavis" of 1702, the church was built at the beginning of the 1700s on the initiative of Giovanni Battista Svaldi, an innkeeper who managed the Golden Eagle tavern that stood in the present via Matteotti. At the behest of its builder the church was dedicated to the Madonna of Loreto and was consecrated by the bishop of Trento, Giovanni Michele Spaur, on June 28, 1705.
A few steps away is the Ciucioi garden, which is nearing completion with some renovation works.
