M. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fu costruita tra il 1652 e il 1655 su disegno del padre carmelitiano Costaguta, sul posto di una antica cappella dell' ospedale dell' Annunziata, fondato nel 1270, in cui si venerava un' immagine dell' Annunciazione. Il 29 aprile 1651 un povero giovane originario di Poirino, muto dalla nascita che si era fermato a pregare quell' immagine guarì improvvisamente. Tale fatto, il "miracolo del muto" attirò la devozione dei fedeli che concorsero con Madama reale, Cristina di Francia, a edificare il nuovo Santuario, il quale durante i secoli fu arricchito dalle donazioni dei fedeli. Dal 1676, con Bolla di Papa Innocenzo XI, è amministrato dalla antica Confraternita della Misericordia, fondata fin dal 1577, un' associazione di laici il cui scopo era - e rimane - l' esercizio della carità verso i poveri, con una attenzione particolare ai carcerati ed alle loro famiglie. Dopo la chiusura delle carceri a Chieri, la Confraternita, che conta attualmente oltre 160 membri attivi, persegue obiettivi umanitari, sociali e religiosi in armonia con le proprie norme statuarie. Il Santuario, rimasto unico nella Città di Chieri, conserva preziose opere d' arte tra cui l' immagine di fronte a cui avvenne il miracolo del 1651, un' importante affresco di scuola fiamminga di autore ignoto datato 1469. It was built between 1652 and 1655 on a design by the Carmelite father Costaguta, on the site of an ancient chapel of the Annunziata hospital, founded in 1270, in which an image of the Annunciation was venerated. On April 29, 1651 a poor young man from Poirino, silent since birth who had stopped to pray that image suddenly recovered. This fact, the "miracle of the silent" attracted the devotion of the faithful who contributed with Madame Real, Cristina of France, to build the new Sanctuary, which over the centuries was enriched by the donations of the faithful. Since 1676, with the Bull of Pope Innocent XI, it has been administered by the ancient Brotherhood of Mercy, founded since 1577, an association of lay people whose purpose was - and remains - the exercise of charity towards the poor, with particular attention to prisoners and their families. After the closure of the prisons in Chieri, the Confraternity, which currently has over 160 active members, pursues humanitarian, social and religious objectives in harmony with its statutory norms. The Sanctuary, which remained unique in the City of Chieri, preserves precious works of art including the image in front of which the miracle of 1651 occurred, an important Flemish school fresco by an unknown author dated 1469.
