Vi si trova la cappella del Cristo Nero che si dice sia di questo colore perché bruciato dai Saraceni durante le loro scorrerie lungo le coste della Sicilia; bellissimo l'altare ligneo dorato. Sopra il transetto della navata centrale si trova l'organo a canne che è stato restaurato in tempi recenti. Tutta la chiesa però necessita di un restauro totale sia interno che all'esterno, sopratutto nel portale prospiciente il corso Vittorio Emanuele. It is the mother church of Licata, one of the oldest. There is the chapel of the Black Christ which is said to be of this color because it was burned by the Saracens during their raids along the coasts of Sicily; beautiful the gilded wooden altar. Above the transept of the central nave is the pipe organ that has been restored in recent times. The whole church however needs a total restoration both inside and outside, especially in the portal overlooking the Corso Vittorio Emanuele.

Particularly the facade and bell tower are practically decomposing. The interior, on the other hand, is fairly well kept; nice ceiling.
