Ben tenuta e molto partecipata trasmette un clima di pace nell'abbraccio architettonico molto suggestivo. Nell'abside affreschi di sette santi con al centro Santa Brigida d'Irlanda. Welcomed by an organ harmony, we entered this small and collected church to attend Sunday mass. Well maintained and very participated, it transmits an atmosphere of peace in the very suggestive architectural embrace. In the apse there are frescoes of seven saints with Saint Brigid of Ireland in the center.

Nel 1140 l'intero borgo di Santa Brigida fu vittima di un violento incendio nel quale si suppone andasse distrutto anche il tempio che venne di conseguenza riedificato. Qui nel 1185 sarà ratificata da parte della Lega Lombarda, la Pace di Costanza, già preliminarmente discussa in S. Antonio. L'attuale tempio venne ripristinato da Giannantonio Perrau (1899) che gli restituì gli originari caratteri romanici. La facciata, ricostruita integralmente dal Perrau, risulta rialzata rispetto alla precedente, ed è connotata da un portone centrale cuspidato, due monofore inferiori, un ampio rosone e tre torrette che svettano sul tetto a capanna. Il campanile, aperto da bifore, è stato completamente rifatto nel 1956. L 'interno, privo di transetto, è a tre navate, chiuse da absidi e divise da pilastri cruciformi che sorreggono volte a crociera. Degna di menzione è la cappella del Crocefisso (navata destra), così denominata dal suggestivo Crocefisso ligneo (XIII secolo) che custodisce, ornata con affreschi di Roberto de Longe, pittore fiammingo di origine, ma in Piacenza dal 1685, che raffigura nella cupola l'Ascensione e nei pennacchi le Sibille. Alle pareti sono invece visibili un dipinto del piacentino Felice Boselli (1650-1732) rappresentante l'Ecce Homo e un S. Andrea condotto al martirio opera notevole di C. Gavasetti (1628) The first foundation of the church dates back, in all probability, to the mid-ninth century. In 1140 the entire village of Santa Brigida was the victim of a violent fire in which the temple was supposedly destroyed and was consequently rebuilt. Here in 1185 the Peace of Constance, previously discussed in S. Antonio, will be ratified by the Lombard League. The current temple was restored by Giannantonio Perrau (1899) who restored the original Romanesque characters. The façade, completely rebuilt by Perrau, is raised compared to the previous one, and is characterized by a cusped central door, two lower single-lancet windows, a large rose window and three turrets that stand out on the gabled roof. The bell tower, opened by mullioned windows, was completely rebuilt in 1956. The interior, without a transept, has three naves, closed by apses and divided by cruciform pillars supporting cross vaults. Worthy of mention is the chapel of the Crucifix (right aisle), named after the suggestive wooden Crucifix (13th century) that it houses, adorned with frescoes by Roberto de Longe, a Flemish painter of origin, but in Piacenza since 1685, which depicts the 'Ascension and the Sibyls in the plumes. On the walls you can see a painting by Felice Boselli from Piacenza (1650-1732) representing the Ecce Homo and a St. Andrew led to martyrdom, a remarkable work by C. Gavasetti (1628)
R	Raffaele Barca on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa a me cara per averci fatto qualche anno fa il corso per la cresima per adulti tenutosi dal magnifico don Riccardo parroco della stessa e della parrocchia di San Giovanni Battista che con sapiente maestria ci segui aumentando in me la conoscenza e l'amore verso Gesù Cristo quindi ogniqualvolta entro in santa Brigida è forte l'emozione. E piccola come chiesa ma quando ci vai è ti siedi anche solo per una preghiera ti rendi conto che è una cattedrale Church dear to me for having done a few years ago the course for confirmation for adults held by the magnificent don Riccardo pastor of the same and of the parish of San Giovanni Battista who with wise mastery followed us increasing in me knowledge and love for Jesus Christ therefore whenever I enter Santa Brigida the emotion is strong. It is small as a church but when you go there and you sit down even for a prayer you realize that it is a cathedral

I must say that it is the first church I have seen in Piacenza and its majestic facade struck me so much from the outside ... then the impressive interior ... Recommended ??
