Non se ne conosce la data di fondazione, si sa però che fin dal 1610 vi era insediata una confraternita. Il culto di questo Santo ha un origine antica così come la festa del 15 giugno che ha luogo in questa chiesa; altra ricorrenza è quella della prima domenica di settembre che ricorda la traslazione delle reliquie avvenuta nel 1672. In queste due ricorrenze è pertanto possibile visitare anche l'interno del piccolo santuario. A questo Santo e a questo luogo sono legate delle leggende la cui conoscenza rende ancore più suggestivo una visita a questo sito, da cui si può ammirare un bel panorama in un luogo silenzioso e tranquillo. Speriamo non cada mai in abbandono. This religious building is named after the main patron saint of Ciminna: San Vito. The church rises to the south, outside the town. The date of its foundation is not known, however it is known that since 1610 a brotherhood was established there. The cult of this saint has an ancient origin as well as the feast of June 15 which takes place in this church; another recurrence is that of the first Sunday of September which commemorates the transfer of the relics which took place in 1672. In these two recurrences it is therefore also possible to visit the interior of the small sanctuary. Legends are linked to this saint and to this place, the knowledge of which makes a visit to this site even more suggestive, from which you can admire a beautiful panorama in a quiet and peaceful place. We hope it never falls into abandonment.

Un occasione da non perdere, per conoscere, la storia del nostro santo patrono. It is celebrated on July 15, with a small procession, in the sanctuary of San Vito. In September, on the first Sunday, a figurative procession takes place in Ciminna, the Ciminesi in clothes of the epoch depicting the martyrdom of San Vito martyr, an imposing event, unique in its kind, the simulacrum of San Vito will descend from the hill where find the sanctuary, in San Francesco, where the relics of San Vito will be found.
