G	Gabriella Silano on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa dedicata a San Silvestro Papa e alla Madonna delle Grazie. È certo che la chiesa fosse già esistente nel 1515. Fu restaurata nel 1574 grazie al conte Garcia Cavaniglia, come attesta l'iscrizione sul portale in pietra locale, su cui è presente anche lo stemma della sua famiglia. Al di sopra il pannello di maiolica dipinta raffigurante la Madonna delle Grazie. La facciata è semplice, a capanna, e nella parte superiore s'innesta un sostegno per le due campane. L'interno, povero di decorazioni, ha un soffitto ligneo con orditura in ferro e si possono ammirare la statua di S.Silvestro Papa del 1866 e la statua della Madonna delle Grazie, in due nicchie ai lati dell'arco antistante l'altare. Sulla porta d'ingresso è posta una cantoria lignea dorata del 1700 davvero pregevole, realizzata da artigiani locali in legno di castagno con decorazioni in legno di pioppo e su di essa vi è una tela, bellissima, del 1740 raffigurante la Madonna e San Silvestro, del bravo artista locale Giovan Battista Prudente. Il 2 luglio, in occasione della celebrazione della Madonna delle Grazie, avviene la "sfilata delle Verginelle", cioè bambine e ragazze in abito da sposa, che si uniscono alla Madonna portata in processione e che poi cantano un antico inno. On the front door there is a very valuable gilded wooden choir of the 1700s, made by local artisans in chestnut wood with poplar wood decorations and on it there is a beautiful canvas from 1740 depicting the Madonna and San Silvestro, by the good local artist Giovan Battista Prudente. On July 2, on the occasion of the celebration of the Madonna delle Grazie, the "Verginelle parade" takes place, that is, girls and girls in wedding dresses, who join the Madonna carried in procession and who then sing an ancient hymn.
