La Fondazione dei Conservatori riuniti del Refugio si occupa della cura delle innumerevoli Opere custodite al suo interno, oltre che della manutenzione di cui un così importante edificio ha bisogno. The result of a recent major restoration, the richly frescoed interior can normally be visited on Wednesday mornings and Saturday mornings. The Foundation of the Joint Conservatories of Refugio deals with the care of the innumerable Works kept inside it, as well as the maintenance that such an important building needs.

Evento unico per arte e cultura. Da precisare ingresso gratuito. Mercoledì e Sabato mattina 9:00 -13:00. Buona permanenza. Absolutely not to be missed among works of art and various memorabilia, also because to rival it 2 rival districts of the Siena palio (Nicchio and Montone) have laid the hatchet. Devo dire che ne è valsa la pena, anche solo per ammirare i tanti reliquiari qui conservati. Aperta solo mercoledi e sabato mattina dalle 9 alle 13. Gorgeous ! I had wanted to visit it for years and when I found it open I didn't want to miss the opportunity. I must say that it was worth it, if only to admire the many reliquaries preserved here. Open only on Wednesday and Saturday morning from 9 to 13.

Una bella chiesa di stile barocco,simile ad uno scrigno(la brochure data all'ingresso dalla volontaria del touring club spiega tutto). E' stata voluta da Aurelio della famiglia Chigi(e'presente la tomba) ,e completata da papa Alessandro VII della stessa famiglia (stemma nella facciata) e a lavorarci sono stati esponenti del barocco senese(Vanni,Folli,Manetti). Un occhio anche alla stanzetta che contiene arredi sacri vari e 4 opere notevoli ( una dolce Madonna col bambino in terra cotta,una S.Caterina lignea di Jacopo della Quercia,una Madonna col bambino di Sano di Pietro,una Annunciata) After being restored, it can be visited on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. It was commissioned by Aurelio of the Chigi family (the tomb is present), and completed by Pope Alexander VII of the same family (coat of arms on the façade) and the work of exponents of the Sienese baroque (Vanni, Folli, Manetti). An eye also to the small room that contains various sacred furnishings and 4 notable works (a sweet Madonna with child in terra cotta, a wooden St. Catherine by Jacopo della Quercia, a Madonna and child by Sano di Pietro, an Annunciata)
