The parish was established in 1568 and the complete reconstruction of the church dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul on the Romanesque structures of the primitive chapel dating back to 1217 dates back to that period.

Della chiesa romanica di allora rimane solo il basamento della torre campanaria e poco altro perché quell'edificio è stato a più riprese ampliato e modificato durante i secoli XVII, XVIII e XIX. Del 1800 è anche la pala d'altare che ritrae il martirio di san Pietro e di san Paolo realizzata dal valsesiano Antonio Avondo. Oggi la chiesa appare in condizioni non proprio splendide di conservazione. Grassona is a place of ancient frequentation (as evidenced by archaeological finds dating back to the Bronze Age and the Roman Imperial Age) but news of a Christian place of worship only dates back to 1217. Of the Romanesque church of that time only the base of the bell tower remains and little else because that building was repeatedly enlarged and modified during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The altarpiece that portrays the martyrdom of St. Peter and St. Paul by the Valsesian Antonio Avondo is also from 1800. Today the church appears to be in less than splendid conditions of conservation.
