Perseguitato dal prefetto di Acerenza Agrippa, venne decapitato il 17 Novembre dello stesso anno nei pressi del fiume Sciaura e Agri. Proprio all’incrocio di questi due fiumi, non molto lontano dalle mura Grumentum, poco dopo l’anno 326, sul medesimo luogo ove San Laviero era stato barbaramente ucciso, i Grumentini in suo onore costruirono una magnifica Chiesa e in essa posero una lapide di marmo. Il sito andrebbe recuperato e maggiormente valorizzato. G	Giuseppe Poletta on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In questo luogo venne decapitato Laverio sotto l'imperatore Costantino.Venne sepolto nello stesso luogo del martirio e per questo fu eretta la chiesa successivamente distrutta dai Saraceni.Questo per dirvi l'importanza del posto ma è poco valorizzata e ormai abbandonata a se stessa.Il comune non si interessa credo abbia altro da fare,per non parlare del bosco di maglie dove attualmente risiede la Legambiente ma è abbandonata a se stessa.Insomma Grumento ha tanto da offrire ma purtroppo nessuno si interessa in primis come ho già detto prima il comune. Attualmente in stato di abbandono, per raggiungerla è necessario passare tra le sterpaglie. Conserva la sua magia grazie al paesaggio in cui è immersa.
