★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa riaperta al pubblico da pochi mesi ed elegantemente ristrutturata offre all'interno numerosi spazi visivi di arte povera locale. Soffermarsi a guardare i resti umani esposti in vetrini sotto alcune statue di Santi e le bianche volte.
The Church, reopened to the public for a few months and elegantly restored, offers numerous visual spaces of poor local art. Stop to look at the human remains exposed in slides under some statues of saints and the white vaults.

The church appears deconsecrated, but in this period there is a wonderful exhibition of nativity scenes from around the world. Really worth seeing: there are hundreds of ways to express the same concept.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Er bestond zeker al in de 16e eeuw een kerk gewijd aan St. Joseph in Agrigento (er is in feite een testament van 3 oktober 1562 dat dit aangeeft), maar het was veel kleiner en bescheidener dan het huidige. Het werd vergroot en volledig veranderd tussen 1656 en 1660, rond de tijd dat de congregatie van het oratorium van San Filippo Neri (of van de Filippijnse paters) in de buurt van de kerk werd gebouwd. Deze religieuze vereniging werd in Agrigento opgericht door de priester Antonio Antinori, die de parochie van San Michele verliet en zich met vijf metgezellen terugtrok in de kerk van San Giuseppe en een onvermoeibaar onderwijs- en welzijnswerk begon.
A church dedicated to St Joseph in Agrigento certainly existed as early as the 16th century (there is in fact a will dated October 3, 1562 indicating this), but it was much smaller and more modest than the present one. It was enlarged and completely altered between 1656 and 1660, around the time the Congregation of the Oratory of San Filippo Neri (or of the Philippine Fathers) was built near the church. This religious association was founded in Agrigento by the priest Antonio Antinori, who left the parish of San Michele and retired with five companions to the church of San Giuseppe and began a tireless work of education and welfare.
