Typical building of the mendicant orders dedicated to the Poverello of Assisi which acts as a pendant to the Dominican one of S. Maria Maggiore. Pointed arches, glass ribs and frescoes complete the context of the building The frescoes were made as a palimpsest between the end of the thirteenth and thirteenth centuries,

The Church is truly wonderful. The interior is remarkable with well-preserved frescoes, also thanks to the help of tourists. Located near the city museum, it is a must when visiting the city.

Church of the XIIII century, wonderful for spaces and frescoes. Managed by private individuals who, thanks to donations, are gradually restoring it. Always open, with very kind and prepared staff that illustrates and explains the whole history of the church and beyond, absolutely to visit.

I've seen so many and was this one going to be any different? Of course it was. We parked nearly and it was then easy to take the little escalator to the top - ta da - there we were. With high ceilings and austentatious artwork, it's not much different to many others but well worth a visit if nothing else to enjoy the stained glass windows. Lots of people while we were there. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly.
