Splendid Romanesque church with a single nave, remodeled internally in the Baroque period. Presents fragments of fresco attributed to signs of Francis. The paintings executed in the early 18th century are instead of Veracini. Inside it holds a "Madonna with Child" by Taddeo Gaddi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Castelfiorentino. Nel cuore della Valdelsa fiorentina, la chiesa di San Francesco appare al turista, così come ai "Castellani", come un monumento di solidità. Di epoca duecentesca, combina elementi romanici e gotici, una rarità in Toscana. Ma ciò che più colpisce il visitatore attento, è la semplice facciata in cotto che, ad un esame ravvicinato, presenta un reticolo di graffiature su ogni laterizio. Dal singolo mattone, allargando lo sguardo, si entra in un dedalo affascinante e ipnotico. Purtroppo, la semplice maestosità francescana è disturbata dalle costruzioni antistanti, discutibili per gusto e proporzioni, risalenti agli anni '90.
Castelfiorentino. In the heart of the Florentine Valdelsa, the church of San Francesco appears to the tourist, as well as to the "Castellani", as a monument of solidity. From the 13th century, it combines Romanesque and Gothic elements, a rarity in Tuscany. But what strikes the attentive visitor most is the simple brick facade which, upon closer inspection, presents a network of scratches on each brick. From the single brick, widening the gaze, you enter a fascinating and hypnotic maze. Unfortunately, the simple Franciscan majesty is disturbed by the buildings opposite, questionable in taste and proportions, dating back to the 1990s.
