Quella attuale fu edificata nel XV secolo, nel punto in cui avvenne un presunto miracolo, la Vergine apparve ad una pastorella muta e le ridiede la parola. Fu ricostruita nel 1711 da parte del sacerdote Lorenzo Sebastiani; subì ulteriori modifiche internamente nel 1766, quando passò ai Padri Filippini. Successivamente l'acquisì la parrocchia di Santo Spirito, il cui parroco operò anch'esso delle modifiche, come la riduzione della chiesa per realizzare la canonica. Attualmente è una chiesa ad aula unica con un solo altare. La parrocchia è intitolata, oltre alla Vergine Assunta, anche a Sant'Antonio da Padova e a Santa Marina. The first information about a church on this site dates back to the 13th century, as dependent on the parish church of San Donato. The current one was built in the 15th century, at the point where an alleged miracle occurred, the Virgin appeared to a deaf shepherdess and gave her back the word. It was rebuilt in 1711 by the priest Lorenzo Sebastiani; it underwent further modifications internally in 1766, when it passed to the Filippini Fathers. Later the parish of Santo Spirito acquired it, whose parish priest also made changes, such as the reduction of the church to realize the rectory. Currently it is a church with a single hall with a single altar. The parish is entitled, in addition to the Virgin of the Assumption, also to Sant'Antonio da Padova and Santa Marina.
