Il sito offre tanta pace e tranquillità a pochi chilometri dal centro di Urbino. Beautiful church close to a monastery which still houses some friars. The floor and the choir behind the altar are interesting. It houses the remains of local nobles. The site offers a lot of peace and tranquility just a few kilometers from the center of Urbino.

Grande letterato e tutore del Duca Guidobaldo ed anche suo segretario quando presto succedette al padre Federico. Fu mentore anche per la sorella Giovanna e per Giovanni della Rovere. Viene infatti citato come “Lodovico padovano” ne “Il Cortegiano” di Baldassarre Castiglione, come esempio di buon educatore. Ludovico è ritratto nel famoso dipinto del Berruguete ed è il primo da sinistra, dei tre personaggi che stanno alle spalle del Duca. Pianta a croce latina a navata unica coperta con volta a botte. Il fregio che corre lungo tutto il perimetro interno dell'edificio contiene una lode al beato Bernardino, fatto santo successivamente. I cenotafi barocchi di Federico e Guidobaldo da Montefeltro sono stati realizzati nel 1620. I busti in marmo dei due duchi sono attribuiti a Girolamo Campagna. La nicchia destra è decorata con affreschi del 1642 con la Samaritana al pozzo. Sull’altare la tela ottocentesca Madonna col Bambino, San Bernardino, San Giacomo e due angeli di Filippo Bigioli Fino al 1810 era collocata la “ Sacra Conversazione” di Piero della Francesca ora alla Pinacoteca di Brera.
