August 2020. Behind the Cathedral is this pearl. A must visit. As soon as you enter you are impressed by the frescoes, by the architecture. It is called the? Sistina di Todi 'and with good reason, in my opinion. There is not a corner that is not frescoed and in an excellent way. To remember the painting 'The Wedding at Cana' by Polinari. The vault is majestic! Warm colors and gold. A detailed brochure is given at the entrance. I recommend the visit!

I don't question the beauty inside the church, but don't let tourists in at 5:50 pm because it closes at 6 pm, it doesn't seem like a good business card to me. Especially in a highly touristic period like the month of August. Too bad, because you sent a group of mine away, plus another from Germany and some Dutch people who complained a lot. Admission is only with a green pass at a cost of 2 euros. Hours are very limited as they close at their own times, so I recommend arriving at least one hour before closing (10: 00-12: 30 - - - 16: 00-18: 00)

A wonderful little church, unique jewel! a small Sistine chapel in the heart of Umbria! 100% recommended!

The Church of the Nunziatina is a small religious building located in the historic center of Todi, just behind the Cathedral of the Annunziata. Seventeenth-century building used over the centuries by various city brotherhoods, it has been restored in more recent times and is a real artistic pearl of this town. Absolutely unmissable.

"The little Sistina". Built in the 1600s to house the Compagnia della SS. Annunziata, was opened for worship in 1613. Of the Compagnia della SS. Annunziata, born with the specific function of carrying out pious works and welcoming pilgrims especially in periods of calamity and pestilence, we have news as early as 1348; previously housed in the church of S. Angelo, then demolished and rebuilt with the current dedication to S. Eligio, it was transferred by Bishop Angelo Cesi to the church of the Annunziata or Nunziatina, so called to distinguish it from the church of the monastery of SS. Annunziata which is located in the village. The church consists of a single nave with a frescoed ceiling where eight chapels open on both sides. In the fifth chapel it is possible to admire a rather rare iconographic subject, in this church repeated twice both in the chapel and on the ceiling *: God the Father in the act of delivering to the Archangel Gabriel the lily that he will have to bring to the Virgin Mary in the episode of 'Annunciation. The decoration of the ceiling recalls, by setting, the great Roman churches of the Baroque period, with angels, flowers and fruit among which eight medallions * stand out, surrounding the main fresco, depicting episodes from the life of the Virgin: Nativity of Mary, presentation of the Virgin in the Temple, Marriage of the Virgin, visitation to St. Elizabeth, Nativity of Jesus, Adoration of the Magi, Flight into Egypt, Assumption. Small church in the center of Todi, well indicated by signs to reach it, the entrance costs € 2 per person. It is a small wonder, completely frescoed, with a harmony of colors and stucco decorations, it is truly beautiful and worth the small expense to see it!
