★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa del SS Crocifisso è conosciuta da tutti gli abitanti della zona come "la chiesa del Calvario", poichè si trova alla sommità del Sacro Monte Calvario - patrimonio Unesco - a breve distanza dal centro di Domodossola. Raggiungibile anche in auto, il percorso più classico e suggestivo è però quelli che si snoda lungo un'ampia mulattiera realizzata nel XVII secolo come Via Crucis, affiancata dalle classiche stazioni che ripercorrono e illustrano il calvario di Cristo mediante statue lignee recentemente restaurate. Al culmine, la piccola chiesetta è caratterizzata da un grande crocifisso e da due cappelle laterali con rappresentazioni artistiche composte da sculture che si integrano agli affreschi sulle pareti, come una sorta di passaggio dalle due alle tre dimensioni. All'esterno della chiesetta ampi spazi terrazzati consentono di godere una bella vista della sottostante cittadina di Domodossola. La passeggiata è gradevolissima in ogni momento dell'anno, dipanandosi il bosco che ricopre la collina, ma primavera e autunno sono le stagioni climaticamente migliori.
 The Church of SS Crocifisso is known by all the inhabitants of the area as "the church of Calvary", as it is located at the top of the Sacro Monte Calvario - Unesco heritage - a short distance from the center of Domodossola. Reachable also by car, the most classic and evocative route is however those that wind along a wide mule track built in the seventeenth century as Via Crucis, flanked by the classic stations that retrace and illustrate the Calvary of Christ through recently restored wooden statues. At the peak, the small church is characterized by a large crucifix and two side chapels with artistic representations made up of sculptures that integrate with the frescoes on the walls, as a sort of passage from two to three dimensions. Outside the church, large terraced areas allow you to enjoy a beautiful view of the underlying town of Domodossola. The walk is very pleasant at any time of the year, unraveling the forest that covers the hill, but spring and autumn are the climatically best seasons.
