★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa è solo una parte di un luogo che rappresenta un concentrato di storia. Qui sorgeva infatti una antica Abbazia Aleramica, fondata nel 961, di cui si possono ancora osservare la torre campanaria romanica (alla quale nel 1910 è stata aggiunta una sopraelevazione), il porticato della vecchia casa parrocchiale con balconcino, il chiostro, oggi ristrutturato e l'abside di forma ottagonale.
Dal chiostro splendida veduta sul Monferrato.
Nella Chiesa si conservano dipinti del Moncalvo (una Madonna con Santi e un affresco che rappresenta il marchese Aleramo I), di sua figlia Orsola Caccia e di Andrea Pozzo (Morte di San Francesco Saverio).
Vi si trovano inoltre:
la tomba di Aleramo I, ornata da un antico mosaico romano in tessere bianche e nere;
un bel coro ligneo cinquecentesco;
alcuni altari decorati con paliotti in scagliola della bottega dei Solari.
Sempre nell'area è visibile una lapide funeraria romana del II secolo d.C.
The Church is only a part of a place that represents a concentration of history. Here was indeed an ancient Aleramica abbey, founded in 961, of which you can still see the Romanesque bell tower (which in 1910 was added a cant), the porch of the old parish house with balcony, the cloister, now renovated and the octagonal apse.

In the church are paintings by Moncalvo (a Madonna with Saints and a fresco representing the Marquis Aleramo I), his daughter Orsola Caccia and Andrea Pozzo (Death of St Francis Xavier).
There are also:
The Aleramo the tomb, adorned with an ancient Roman mosaic in black and white tiles;
a beautiful sixteenth-century wooden choir;
some altars decorated with scagliola frontals from the Solari workshop.
Also in the area is a Roman tombstone from the 2nd century AD
