Durante i lavori, fu trovato il cosiddetto Tesoro dell'Esquilino, un ricco corredo di argenti dell'epoca tardo imperiale. La chiesa fu consacrata nel 1781 dal pontefice Pio VI Braschi. La facciata presenta un ordine di paraste con capitelli corinzi tra le quali aprono quattro finestre. Al centro apre un portale sovrastato da una finestra incorniciata. A coronamento un doppio timpano triangolare. L’interno presenta una pianta a croce greca riccamente decorato con stucchi e volti di cherubini. Sull’altare maggiore è posta una tela con le immagini della Madonna, di S. Anna e di S.Gioacchino.
