★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La costruzione della Chiesa del Gesù, nota come Chiesa dei Batu' (cioè dei Flagellanti) risale al 1576, anno in cui la Confraternita omonima ottenne l'autorizzazione ad edificare una propria Cappella.
La Chiesa dei Batu' costituisce uno dei più antichi monumenti religiosi di Giaveno: in essa, alle severe linee classiche di impianto dell'edificio, si sovrappongono quelle più fantasiose dell'ornato di stile barocco.
Dopo un lungo abbandono, dagli anni Settanta, grazie agli interventi di restauro del CIRCOLO RICREATIVO CULTURALE che ne cura tuttora la conservazione, è sede di manifestazioni culturali. Il suo suggestivo interno, che conserva gli arredi originali, è suddiviso tra la Chiesa (con un prezioso organo risalente al 1781) e il Coro a Scanno. Dotata di un'ottima acustica e di una atmosfera raccolta, è utilizzata come sede ideale per concerti di musica classica.
The construction of the Church of the Gesù, known as the Church of the Batu '(i.e. of the Flagellants) dates back to 1576, the year in which the Confraternity of the same name obtained the authorization to build its own chapel.
The Church of the Batu 'is one of the oldest religious monuments in Giaveno: in it, the severe classical lines of the building's layout are superimposed on the more imaginative ones of the Baroque style ornamentation.
After a long abandonment, from the seventies, thanks to the restoration interventions of the CULTURAL RECREATIONAL CIRCLE which still takes care of its conservation, it is the seat of cultural events. Its evocative interior, which retains the original furnishings, is divided between the Church (with a precious organ dating back to 1781) and the Choir in Scanno. Equipped with excellent acoustics and a cozy atmosphere, it is used as an ideal venue for classical music concerts.
