★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a truly amazing meal at Alberto's restaurant just outside Castelmola. He picks up what is fresh each day and creates a banquet from it. Marinated escalopes of swordfish and tuna stuffed with herbs and prawns with fennel, orange and lemon was a starter. The courses just kept on coming all, beautifully prepared and presented. As well as a seafood extravaganza there was also home made gnocchi and pasta and then a wonderful creamy canoli to finish.
I rarely gush about a restaurant but this was a wow. And the view was fantastic too. Thank you Alberto.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A total refurb since 2yrs ago and it's beautiful. Alberto is always the great host and Alfina a fantastic cook. Very much worth a visit to be out of the town centre, breathe some fresher country air and admire some great views. Definitely recommend!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would probably give this a 3.5 star review but since I can't, 4 will have to do. I had very high expectations of this restaurant but I left feeling somewhat disappointed. We had the tasting menu for 2 people which was 45 euro per person, which seems to be more than previous reviews had stated. The menu is all seafood and comes out in courses. 2 seafood tasting platters, mussels, 2 seafood pastas, prawns and fish followed by dessert.
The food was good (but not incredible) but I felt let down by the service. This could have been due to a language barrier but nothing was really explained and I didnt feel a sense of passion about the food. For 45 euro pp I felt a bit more attention should be paid to explanations and entertaining the guests. Dessert was also a simple lemon sorbet and ricotta cannoli. No explain or choice of wine. No offer for tea or coffee afterward. We had to ask for digestivo to end the meal when it is often just offered. I honestly just left wanting a bit more oomph. Can't say I would passionately recommend this place.
