It's not an easy trekking if you are not trained, people described it to us as a "walk", it was not that easy being quite steep and with rocks and roots on the way, but definitely worth it! The view from there is stunning, the little church quite unique and suggestive

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve ran all the way up and down with a stop at Bastione. Nothing can be added to that experience - it was awesome! And very, very hot. But nobady cared, because lots of people were going up to that hill continiously and all them had that smile when they saw me running.
The view from Bastione was nice, but from Chapel Santa Barbara it was amazing. Dropped my signature in that book, stared a bit around and ran down. It was crazy but worth it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hike / climb up, 1h without stops for young semi fit people, 45min down. Total vertical ascent as per Garmin GPS: 527m. Good traction shoes recommended. Great views at the top.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It took me about an hour an half to get to the top. I am not a very active or fit person. I found it very challenging but with enough rest you can do it. Not suitable for kids. Wear good hiking shoes. Walking pools are advisable. Totally worth it for the view, and experience. You can also spot few native spices of bird, insects and reptiles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some of the most amazing views of riva. A real achievement. A very tough climb in the heat. Allow a good 3 hours to get up and down. Make sure you take water with you. Possible stop at the Fort but nothing after that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trip advisor rated as the top thing to do in Riva Del Garda so this is obviously something you have to do...
Well I'm not so sure this is true, I did and I loved it.
However this isn't for the couch potato. To reach the Chapel there is a very good walk which at times is very steep and most of the time is over rough terrain. From Riva it's a 1.8 mile trek with a 1758 ft of assent. I would suggest walking poles especially for the decent.
The views from the Chapel are stupendous while the chapel itself is a bit of a let down. While you're up there taking some photos you can rest your legs for the way down.
Part way you pass the Bastion where you can grab a snack and drink.
Consider taking the walk in the afternoon as the path will be in the shadow of the mountain making it a little cooler.
I went up in 1 hour 2 minutes and down in 48 minutes but I did pay for it with sore legs the next day.
Would I do it again, absolutely and I would aim to break the hour, would I recommend everyone to do it... Absolutely NOT.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful view over a beautiful city! Takes around one hour to walk up. Pretty nice trail that can be done in jogging shoes if it's not raining. If wet I would suggest something with better grip and support. Added some photo of the "worse" parts of the trail. Don't think just walk up and enjoy the view! ?
