All'interno, a parte qualche cappella dove si trovano delle sculture e dei bassorilievi molto elaborati da non trascurare, la chiesa non mi ha attirato più di tanto, l'ho trovata molto semplice nella sua architettura, ma bella nell'insieme. Una pecca potrebbe essere nei cartelli stradali, abbiamo perso molto tempo girando intorno al paese prima di arrivare in cima Very large and beautiful church, but even more beautiful is the view that can be admired from the back, a very characteristic steep precipice. La visita interna, al costo di 2.50 euro a persona, si è rivelata molto interessante grazie alla bravissima guida (era il 29 agosto) che ci ha accompagnato. Sono anche disponibili delle audio guide. Grazie ancora alla ragazza che ci ha illustrato con tanta bravura e pazienza (nostro figlio di 2 e mezzo ha fatto non pochi capricci, ma poi anche lui si è fatto coinvolgere) questa bella chiesa. Oggi non è più allo stato originale perché parzialmente distrutta dal violento terremoto che colpì il Belice nel 1968. Maestosa e imponente dalla quale si gode un panorama unico su Caltabellotta, rurale paese medievale arroccato su tre monti. Custodisce ancora preziosi dipinti parzialmente visibili. Molto importanti quelli all'interno della cappella della Madonna rimasti fortunatamente intatti. Nella cappella stessa opere del Ferrari.
