I’m a frequent flyer, travelling a lot, but the service at Catania airport is the worst that I have faced. The personnel is very rude, impolite and unwilling to help. Every time I am there, I don’t feel good. Once I lost my hat there and was trying to find it. I was asking for help of the personnel, including police, but nobody wanted to help me. They just kept on coming sending me to one person to another. The last time passing the security check the woman there was so rude and impolite, she was almost shouting at me and my husband. The quality of the services must be improved. The big problem is also that the airport is quite small and you can hardly find a place to sit. During the rush hours, you just have to stand there with the crowd. It is not pleasant especially if you have to wait for your flight for several hours.

Quite a crowded airport. Terminal A was decent - enough toilets, fast security check. It was really hard to understand when you can enter the terminal - the distinction was 'international flights' vs. 'domestic flights', but in the middle of the queue, there were some signs that grouped 'domestic and Schengen flights' in one category... finally, we were allowed to enter 2.5 hrs before our flight to Poland. Normally I'd give 3 stars. However, with so many people inside, the airport doesn't seem covid-safe. Social distancing is a myth here :(

After hundreds of flights I can safely say that this is the worst Airport I have ever been to. Flights on 11/09/2021 were delayed due to bad weather, for which the airport has no fault. What they're faulty for though is the atrociously bad management of the insane crowds of people waiting for their flight and the non existent communication about what's actually going on. Thousands up on thousands of people were cramped into chaotic lines, no one knew what's going on, the noise was unbearable and the best part: at 21:30 o'clock they just turned off the lights at the gates for some time. Especially in times of COVID the huge amount of people cramped into this tiny space is a catastrophe waiting to happen. Thanks for nothing and NEVER AGAIN.

HORRIBLE! I am a frequent flier, having traveled to 80+ countries including Iraq & Afghanistan, and Catania ranks as one of the WORST airports in the world I’ve ever experienced. The mess starts outside with confusing and barely marked roads leading to the airport, parking areas and access roads and confusing sidewalks forcing pedestrians to use parking garage ramps. Outside the terminal it’s complete chaos, with mass of humanity trying to get into the terminal. But wait it gets better - Catania won’t let you into the terminal until 2-3 hours before your flight depending on destination. The stern guards outside only randomly so spot checks or glances at boarding passes so it’s quite easy to just walk past them and flash a random pass, which is what I did when the sky opened up with sheets of rain and hail. Inside the signage is no better. I saw an old woman fall on the escalator that kept stopping and starting for no apparent reason. A sign showing my check in desk was open led to a closed and dark desk. Terminal has sad bars and shopping choices. Next time I’ll take the ferry .

1st time in this airport. Easy to disembark, grab your bag and walk to the parking lot. Also greeted by Mt. Etna when you get off the plane.

Such a busy airport for the size of it. Don't miss to buy Sicilian pastries in the airport. Due to covid, the authority will let you in the airport only 3hours before the departure for international and 2 hours before for national. Easy to get to the airport from the city with public transport.

Little but very functional airport. Has plenty of check in desks, and security check is very fast and not overly detailed. The waiting area is slightly crowded and multiple flights seemed to be delayed (due to airline issues) yet it was possible to find seating and once boarding started it was again very prompt and without delays. However, waiting for flight is rather mundane- as most of the stores are rather small in size and there is not much else to do.. Catering was as always in Italy very decent!

Very nice airport. Easy to find everything: checkin, rental cars, places to eat before and after security, clean, security effective the day we departed. Enjoyed our visit.
