La fermata è nuova, ben realizzata e la pulizia impeccabile. Sembra quasi di non essere in Italia, fino a quando non si esce dalla zona ferroviaria. Per arrivare in Aeroporto sono 300 metri scarsi, ma si sono completamente dimenticati di costruire un marciapiede pedonale. È quindi obbligatorio attendere un bus navetta (a gasolio, nel 2021!) sotto la piena randa del sole. Sarebbe davvero utile un percorso ciclopedonale alternativo alla carreggiata e al bus navetta e occorrerebbe mettere in funzione gli ascensori. La navetta sarebbe meglio se fosse elettrica, a filobus o a monorotaia automatica.

Stazione nuovissima e raggiungibile sia con navetta gratuita che a piedi (sconsigliato per il primo tratto). La fermata in aeroporto della navetta è del tutto anonima e non segnalata. Metto una foto per aiutare ad individuarla

Arrivo in serata alle 19.20 all’aeroporto, e avendo letto di questa nuova struttura sono ansioso di provarla. In aeroporto nessuna indicazione in merito al pullman navetta che collega alla stazione, e anche la fermata, anonima e nascosta posta vicino all'ingresso dei parcheggi è praticamente invisibile, praticamente una fermata di tipo provvisorio, priva di qualsiasi indicazione e orario, e indicante solo che l'autobus porterà al parcheggio amt (non viene indicato che fermerà anche alla stazione), a differenza della fermata ALIBUS, ben visibile e con le fermate (differenza di trattamento forse dovuta che ALIBUS ha un biglietto da pagare?) Attendo il bus navetta, che dovrebbe portarmi alla stazione per prendere un treno che dovrebbe partire mezz’ora dopo. Purtroppo, l’autobus si fa attendere per oltre 40 minuti (l'intero percorso sino alla stazione dura meno di 5 minuti), e arriva solo alle 20. Risultato: devo attendere una mezz’ora (un’altra) per prendere il treno che mi porterà alla stazione centrale. Decido di non cadere nello sconforto e, per accedere al binario 2 di usare l’ascensore. L’ascensore al binario due non funziona. Fossi stato disabile ... Arrivo alla stazioncina, pulita e ordinata, priva dei servizi igienici (mi sembra incredibile), o, se ci sono hanno dimenticato di inserirli nella cartina, dove sono indicati persino i posti a sedere. Al binario 2 tabelloni non funzionanti...Beh aggiornerò la recensione quando arriverò a destinazione. Gli altoparlanti della stazione diffondono messaggi che sembrano surreali. Ad esempio segnalano che alla stazione di Caltanissetta Xirbi non funziona l'ascensore del binario 2, oppure che i numeri dei treni annunciati potrebbero non essere corretti. Finalmente alle 20.40 (un'ora e venti minuti dopo l'arrivo all'aeroporto) arriva un malandatissimo treno diesel che mi condurrà alla stazione centrale.

I took the train from Messina straight to this station and the travel time was 1 hour and 45 minutes. when you get off the train near it is the shuttle service to the airport there is clear sign where the buses park and also there is a display of all the flights and their times which is awesome. there are also buses for near by areas. oh and the shuttle service from the train station comes every ten (10) minutes.

Lousy connections from the airport to the railway station. It is impossible to walk the 10 minutes from the airport to the station with luggage because there is no pavement along the main road and Google Maps tries to send you through a security restricted area. Airport staff insist that there is no airport station and tell you instead to take the Alibus to the Central station.

New train station near the airport, useful for going direct to Acireale, Giarre-Riposto, Giardini Naxos-Taormina or Messina. If you want to go to Catania, get the Alibus instead as it’ll be quicker. There’s a free shuttle bus to get to the train station every 10 minutes which leaves from the last bus stop heading east out of the terminal (just before terminal C). You can buy train tickets at the station but there’s no toilets.

Brand new train station! 1 euro 80 cents to get in 6 minutes from Catania Airport train station to Catania Central Station. Note. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from the Airport to this train station. There is limited pavement so when you have a lot of luggage the walk may be a challenge. I believe there also is a bus line between the airport and the train station, but haven’t taken that one yet. Lastly, the trains (at least the day we left) depart every hour.
