We passed it during an outing in MTB, for reasons of time we did not stop too much but the view towards the sea and the castle enchant the view of the visitor

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Castelnuovo Magra è uno splendido paese, che pur non essendo ancora stato travolto dal turismo, è curatissimo. Sorte curiosa in una nazione dove sembra che solo quello che viene baciato dal turismo di massa meriti di essere tenuto in ordine, e nemmeno sempre.
Le case e i palazzi sono tenuti con grande cura, ci sono piante lungo i vicoli.
È bellissimo percorrere tutte le vie e le contrade che salgono al Castello dei Vescovi di Luni, godere degli scorci che appaiono all'improvviso fra due palazzi o sotto un arco.
Da Castelnuovo si gode un panorama stupendo a 360°.
Castelnuovo Magra is a splendid town, which, although it has not yet been overwhelmed by tourism, is well-kept. A curious fate in a nation where it seems that only what is kissed by mass tourism deserves to be kept in order, and not always.
The houses and buildings are kept with great care, there are plants along the alleys.
It is wonderful to walk through all the streets and districts that go up to the Castello dei Vescovi di Luni, enjoy the glimpses that suddenly appear between two buildings or under an arch.
From Castelnuovo you can enjoy a wonderful 360 ° panorama.

Very nice road to reach this place by motorbike, ample parking both below and above. Of the castle only a part of the castle remains but always beautiful
all very clean well cared for
Perfect for 1 hour of relaxation after hours of motion

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pity the World War bombardments left only bare ruins. The little bit open to the public was closed. A bit of a walk up the stone flagging from the parking below. Chiesa della Maddalena lovely as are all olden day churches. My advice quick 2nd stop off after Aghiholfi while doing the medieval ruling Malaspina bloodline circuit.
