The castle is private but is occasionally open to visits: they are precious opportunities to understand the complexity of the old fortress that saw a fortress of the 1400s built by the Da Rosate in an even older popular shelter. The entrance of the fortress remains with the beautiful perspective of the four arches that opened under the tower. Virtually nothing about the shelter. Other more recent buildings, remodeled in modern times, are surrounded by a large park with a high boundary wall that prevents the view from the outside.

The Casalino Castle dates back to the mid-fourteenth century, from the eighteenth century and until a few years ago it belonged to the noble Novarese family of Count Leonardi. Above the main door the seat of the "bolzone" is still visible, the beam to move the drawbridge, beyond the round arch there is a vast introytum, at the base of the tower that surmounted it, to the right of the entrance tower you can see the northern wall of a castle building, in which the ancient guard path with the lowered arch opening is evident. Further below, an authentic brick cordonate marks the beginning of the scarp of the wall, which descended towards the pit; halfway up a series of small windows, giving light to the ancient rooms on the first floor, the large terracotta windows are difficult to date, but seem to have been made quite recently. Of particular interest is the villa and the splendid park. The encased ark must have been very large, and is still marked by the wall that encloses the buildings and the vast park; almost nothing remains of the ancient castrum except for a series of rustic houses on the eastern side, which can date back to the sixteenth century. On the other hand, to the north just in front of the current access gate, some important remains of the fortress from the fifteenth century remain. On the right you can see the private chapel and then you enter a vast park, with centuries-old trees, on the left you can reach the rustic buildings, which were the home of the earls' wage earners, a wall separates the two areas of the castle and to the south a building of the late seventeenth century closes the rustic courtyard. A pleasant discovery: in the middle of the Novara rice fields, in a small village with a few houses, is the Casalino Castle, owned by the Leonardi Counts today privately owned and managed by the municipality. Built in the 14th century, it has a park with a pond and various castle dwellings. It often lends itself to events of various kinds: markets, exhibitions, music, families and is often open to external visits - nice!
