Immerso nel centro storico dell’omonimo comune è al centro della Baraggia. Anche se è stato appena ristrutturato, sicuramente meriterebbe di essere valorizzato ancor di più con il proseguimento della ristrutturazione delle mura e degli edifici che lo contornano. Visita guidata piacevole e ricca di informazioni storiche. Adibito a teatro, mostre e ed eventi culturali per l’occasione. Consigliato! Buronzo Castle is a small consortium castle surrounded by a complex of semi-destroyed fortifications. Immersed in the historic center of the homonymous municipality, it is at the center of the Baraggia. Although it has just been renovated, it certainly deserves to be enhanced even more with the continuation of the renovation of the walls and buildings that surround it. Pleasant guided tour full of historical information. Used as a theater, exhibitions and cultural events for the occasion. Recommended!

Dalle cartelle, quelle che raccontano la sua storia, ho capito, ch'e il castello non era uno. Piuttosto, c'erano gli edifici medievali, che sono stati modificati secondo i periodi e necessità. Alcune parti sono rovinate, ma nonostante questo, il castello dà una bel imagine dell'epoca passata. I only visited it from the outside. The castle is located in the historic center of the town and is very characteristic. From the folders, the ones that tell his story, I understood that the castle was not one. Rather, there were the medieval buildings, which were modified according to the periods and needs. Some parts are ruined, but despite this, the castle gives a nice impression of the bygone era.

Nel nostro caso furono i Buronzo che, divisi in sette colonnellati a partire dal XIII Secolo, decisero di dividersi il ricetto signorile del quale ognuno dei rami familiari possedeva una parte. Il castello mostra una struttura complessa, nella quale è possibile individuare le varie fasi costruttive succedutesi nei secoli a partire dal 1039, anno in cui Guala di Casalvolone viene investito del feudo da parte dell'imperatore Corrado II. Uno spaccato architettonico di grande importanza è quel che rimane della manica della rocca di nord-est, nelle cui pareti si scorgono gli allineamenti dei fori che servivano da alloggiamenti per le travi dei soffitti lignei del palazzo sviluppatosi a cavallo fra XIV e XV Secolo; si notano pure alcune bifore tamponate nella parte superiore, a indicare la formazione di un soffitto più basso. Gli esempi potrebbero continuare, a testimonianza della ricchezza di storia che custodisce il castello di Buronzo. It is a very interesting complex, since it is one of the few examples of a consortium castle still existing, that is a set of palaces and fortifications within which the different branches of the same family of feudal lords lived together. In our case it was the Buronzo family who, divided into seven colonnellates starting from the 13th century, decided to divide up the aristocratic shelter of which each of the family branches owned a part. The castle shows a complex structure, in which it is possible to identify the various construction phases that took place over the centuries starting from 1039, the year in which Guala di Casalvolone was invested with the fief by the emperor Corrado II. An architectural cross-section of great importance is what remains of the sleeve of the north-east fortress, in the walls of which you can see the alignments of the holes that served as housings for the beams of the wooden ceilings of the building which developed at the turn of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries; there are also some mullioned windows in the upper part, indicating the formation of a lower ceiling. The examples could continue, bearing witness to the rich history that the castle of Buronzo holds.

Il borgo comunque è bellino e se siete da queste parti un giretto lo merita anche. Very small country village in the Vercelli area with a castle that unfortunately has been left almost in ruins. The village, however, is beautiful and if you are around here it is also worth a stroll.
