The remains of a prized secular solarium from the Arab-Norman era. The trilobate room with mukarnas and pleated blinds is splendid.

Se, a breve, sarà restaurato e reso ancora più fruibile potrà sicuramente diventare un punto di riferimento del percorso Unesco. On the occasion of the treasure streets we finally had the opportunity to visit this monument and it turned out to be a real surprise. If, in short, it will be restored and made even more usable, it can certainly become a point of reference on the UNESCO route.

Вплотную к замку (а, возможно, и в бывшей его части) жилой дом (чуть дальше в бывшей башне - тоже дивут). Rarely mentioned in reference books is a Norman-era castle. There is nothing special to watch, but gives some idea of those years. Close to the castle (and, possibly, in its former part) a residential building (a little further in the former tower is also a marvel).

La parte superiore, e ben visibile come volume compatto, venne trasformata dai normanni in cappella religiosa. Used by the Norman kings who transformed it into one of the Genoardo's many "sollazzi", that vast garden and hunting forest that extended to the woods of Altofonte, Monreale and beyond. The upper part, and clearly visible as a compact volume, was transformed by the Normans into a religious chapel. It needs urgent restoration work as well as expropriations to free it from the numerous superfetations that have arisen all around

Tra abusivismo selvaggio e lassismo delle istituzioni è stato irrimediabilmente rovinato uno dei più bei " Sollazzi " dell'antica Palermo... I put three stars not for the structure itself which is very interesting and to be preserved, but for the decay and the state in which the building is unfortunately located. Between wild abusiveness and laxity of the institutions one of the most beautiful "Sollazzi" of ancient Palermo was irreparably ruined ...
