The adjacent garden is simply beautiful ... certainly it could be better cared for .. But the beauty is indisputable .. The secular tree is amazing, unfortunately the Villa itself is in a state of complete abandonment

A charming and discreetly preserved villa, oozing history and a past that has certainly been prestigious. This ancient building, located in a former royal park together with the small Cuba, was born for the entertainment of the Norman court and subsequently passed to various noble families of the city. Today it is owned by the Sicily Region. A pity that it is always closed and not usable.

Another piece of the history of Palermo that risks, if still neglected, to leave us, an eighteenth-century villa that was built where the Cuba Soprana (originally known as the Alfaina tower) and the Little Cuba of Norman origins already insisted inside a garden that was part of the Norman Genoardo royal park (today a historic citrus grove). Inside, today, you can admire the remains of the still visible structure of the Cuba soprana, incorporated into the structure of the villa (for those who want to see them they are sections of walls and an arch on the eastern front of the villa), and of the small Cuba built around the XII century. It is therefore clear that it was built as a Norman tower and had Renaissance renovations and was finally transformed in the seventeenth century into a villa with a rectangular plan, to which the double flight staircase on the façade was added for access to the noble floor. Near the villa in an open space concluded within a wall perimeter, there is a small church, also from the eighteenth century, dedicated to Santa Rosalia who was, like the vaults of the hall, inside the villa, frescoed by Vito D'Anna. It became the property of the jurist Carlo Di Napoli, from whom it takes its current name, in 1730. The thefts it has suffered over the years and its abandonment make it as it is today and it is hoped that it will be safeguarded; it is fair to say that since 1991 (the year in which it became the property of the Sicilian Region) it has been subjected to a series of interventions of consolidation, restoration and recovery of the roofs, but it is not enough to safeguard a historical and artistic heritage, it is necessary to preserve and not stop to tell its story, even with continued use over time; memory, even of small things, wins over time and oblivion.

In itself a beautiful structure and rich in history, but left out of use and the total neglect of the town that does not know how to exploit its immense historical / tourist resources

Garden of Villa Napoli and small Cuba are located near Corso Calatafimi. The complex is of Norman origins reopened after decades of neglect. After many changes of ownership on heavily modified by the Napoli family. Inside there is a very small church dedicated to Santa Rosalia. In 1991 it was bought by the Sicilian Region.

I put 5 stars just because this place is too dear to me. spectacular sin palace for the fact that it is completely abandoned. all the plan of the area should deserve more. from the small cuba on the tip to the small dry swan pond. being an architect and having the studio 10 meters from the villa every time it is a real tragedy for me to see so much abandoned beauty.
