Sensazione mozzafiato di respirare un luogo storico ben mantenuto nel suo contesto, con inoltre una bellissima vista sul mare e sui lidi sottostanti.
(Nell'agosto 2020 il bar/ristorante inserito nella Fortezza era chiuso, quindi il luogo era visitabile in totale libertà).
Fortress dominating the panorama of Finale Ligure with silent elegance: a must see.
Breathtaking sensation of breathing a historical place well maintained in its context, with also a beautiful view of the sea and the shores below.
(In August 2020 the bar / restaurant inserted in the Fortress was closed, so the place could be visited in total freedom).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fu costruito nel 1365 dai genovesi in opposizione ai rivali Marchesi Dal Carretto.
Oggetto di assedi e scontri, fu conquistata dagli spagnoli e ripresa da Genova e divenne poi un carcere sotto i Savoia e nel primo dopoguerra.
Recentemente restaurato, ospita un suggestivo ristorante con B&B ( le camere sono allestite nelle vecchie celle del carcere....).
E' permesso l'accesso negli spazi aperti, in cui spesso vengono svolti eventi e concerti.
It was built in 1365 by the Genoese in opposition to the rival Marquises Dal Carretto.
Subject of sieges and clashes, it was conquered by the Spaniards and taken back by Genoa and then became a prison under the Savoy and in the first post-war period.
Recently restored, it houses a charming restaurant with B&B (the rooms are set up in the old prison cells ....).
Access to open spaces is allowed, where events and concerts are often held.
