M	Marco Salvalaggio on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il casino è l'unica parte rimasta di un'immensa casa di campagna che si estendeva in tutta la zona, da via Veneto fino a via Salaria (!), vittima dello scempio edilizio perpetrato a Roma dopo l'Unità d'Italia. E' proprietà privata della famiglia Boncompagni-Ludovisi che tuttora ci abita, e quindi visitabile solo in determinate occasioni. All'interno ci sono diverse opere di grande interesse. Su tutte L'Aurora del Guercino e l'unico dipinto su muro del Caravaggio (curiosamente nessuno dei due è un affresco). Qua e là si possono trovare delle piccole chicche, alcuni rilievi di epoca romana probabilmente ricavati da sarcofagi tra i quali spicca una rappresentazione della tauromachia del Dio Mitra. La visita è estremamente costosa, 20 euro solo l'ingresso se si va con un'associazione probabilmente costa ancora di più, e rispetto ad altre attrazioni di Roma non so se vale la pena. Purtroppo all'interno è strettamente proibito fotografare. The casino is the only remaining part of a huge country house that extended throughout the area, from Via Veneto to Via Salaria (!), Victim of the building disaster perpetrated in Rome after the Unification of Italy. It is the private property of the Boncompagni-Ludovisi family who still live there, and can therefore only be visited on certain occasions. Inside there are several works of great interest. Over all, the Aurora by Guercino and the only painting on the wall by Caravaggio (curiously, neither is a fresco). Here and there you can find small gems, some Roman reliefs probably derived from sarcophagi among which stands out a representation of the bullfighting of the God Mitra. The visit is extremely expensive, 20 euros only the entrance if you go with an association probably costs even more, and compared to other attractions in Rome I don't know if it's worth it. Unfortunately, photography is strictly forbidden inside.
G	Giovanni on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Abbiamo fatto una visita guidata con un ottima guida che ci ha spiegato cos'era Villa Ludovisi prima della speculazione edilizia del dopo unita' d'Italia, è rimasto quel tanto da farti venire una grande rabbia...vale la pena visitarla per gli affreschi del Guercino (fantastica l'aurora)e dell'unico esistente del Caravaggio. We had a guided tour with an excellent guide who explained to us what Villa Ludovisi was before the post-unification of Italy building speculation, there is just enough left to make you feel a great anger ... it's worth a visit for the frescoes Guercino (the dawn is fantastic) and the only one in existence by Caravaggio.

In any other place it would be unique, it is remarkable for Rome too and the only fresco linked to Caravaggio is here! not to mention statues that you would see in museum that here are 'scattered' in the garden like flowers. The ensemble' and presentation, that also covers for the family's history, is indeed very interesting. Book in advance and enjoy the experience.
