β β β β β POOR SERVICE, FOOD NOT IMPRESSED
The hotel recommended this neighborhood restaurant. We came and hoping to have great Italian food. The Manager (I think), was pushing us to order expensive seafood.
One plate Pasta with clams, was so salty. We sent it back to the kitchen.
The other plates came, no platting what so ever. The taste was nothing special, not worth the high rating in this site.
We paid for the food with cash, and expect a change of 7 Euro. The waiter returned with lots of 5/10/20 cents Euro pocket change. We saw them looking at us outside, talking and laughing among other waiters, and presumably talking about us, and about the small change they gave us. They did this in retaliation for us not ordering the expensive food and wine, and returning the claim pasta dish.
This is absolutely unacceptable. Travelers, don't go there! I experienced this first hand. Eat somewhere else.

β β β β β Had one of the best pasta there but got charged for the bread we didn't eat and also for tap water. The hospitality in Rome in general is pretty poor and this place was no exception.

β β β β β We stopped there only bec my husband wanted some seafood. He was very pleased with the mussels he ordered.
The quality and portioning was good.
Pretty place with nice outdoor area, we came in very quiet time, believe we were the only customers. Didnt like waiter keep on standing somewhere behind our table. A bit pricey place, but you can see the prices in menu 1st, its not a secret. I wouldnt go there to eat, as im not a seafood fan and wouldnt find anything for myself in the menu. Not for kids either.

β β β β β My girlfriend and I visited Rome during the last week, including Valentine's Day. We hoped to get a special meal for the occasion, but it was difficult to book from afar (lacking experience of Rome!). I found Il Piccolo Mondo online, but really didn't know what to expect; I am an awkward vegetarian, and the San Valentino menu didn't mention vegetarian options. I e-mailed the restaurant (in English), more out of hope than expectation, and was happily assured that vegetarian dishes wouldn't be a problem. I honestly still didn't know what to expect, and I undoubtedly made things even more difficult by announcing at the last minute (i.e. while we ordered our wine) that as a vegetarian I can't eat Parmigiano, Pecorino, Grand Padano, etc. (I really should have mentioned this to them before). However, the food was unbelievable. For both of us! (My better half is a carnivore) And even more, the staff were so, so good. The service was incredible. We could not have been more looked after, and felt like we had all the time in the world (unlike in a lot of restaurants in Rome where it can all feel a bit rushed). 10/10 isn't enough. Thank you to all of you!
P.S. also, the manager (whose name I unfortunately didn't get) has a mighty sense of humour!

β β β β β They charged the water from the sink 3 euros per bottle. And 3 euros for the knife and fork. Is it because we are tourists or this is their way?? Good service, good quality of food, very good tastes but very expensive. Not value for money.

β β β β β I loved the place for its menu that serves interesting non pasta food among others. From starters to desserts food was definitely above average with corresponding and deserved price tag. The quality or rather speed of service could have been better.
