During our 5 day trip in Rome we visited a lot of different italien restaurants. Cantine Cavour is an insider tip, outwardly it looks really inconspicous, but then we had perfect service, perfect meals and good prices at the end ???

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was good, but service was not good. We waited for food and water too long. Wine we chose firstly they didn't have so we chose other wine which was not tasty at all. They had no needed ingredients for salad we chose. I almost run for waitress to pay a bill. The table and chairs were not stable because of surface of the floor. Sorry guys but we will not visit your place again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved by the locals. It's got to be good right? It is. Simple great Italian fair. The sea bass is amazing. Presentation is worth it alone. My son rates it the best pizza in Italy. It's a big call but he knows pizza.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very lucky find and what a treat. Last meal of our holiday and by far the best meal. Great food, great value and a very attentive service. Loved that the waitress didn’t even need a pad to remember our orders! Ps: the chocolate pie (aka chocolate fondant) is the best we’ve had! A++++

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mixed feelings on this one. Food was delicious. Nothing wrong with the service. BUT expect dirty (VERY) cups and utensils. I really wished the restaurant would change their all their cups and hire a good dish washer. The second time around much better. Glasses and utensils are clean. Revising 3 to 5 stars. Not sure why they only open 4 hours a day but everything is fresh and consistently tasty. Significant other is a super picky eater and she thinks this restaurant’s food is the best.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saw the great reviews and thought I'd give it a try. All 4 of us thought the food was amazing and well priced considering we were so close to the Vatican.
The starters were massive and the pizza very good. All obviously homemade and made to order. Even the Tiramisu was brilliant, so I can't fault this place one bit.
4 of us with a starter, main course and one dessert with bottle of wine, 88 euros. Great value.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a really good restaurant! The spaghetti with clams is incredible. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was fresh with big seafood flavours. The Margherita pizza was so cheesy and full of tomato sauce.
The service is fantastic. Our waitress was so friendly and polite. Fortunately she spoke English as well!
Another great aspect is there is no cover charge! The price is very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. My spaghetti with clams was €13 and Margherita pizza was about €8. Pastas are generally between €10 and €15 and pizzas are between €8 and €13.
I highly recommend this place!
