C.S.Vincenzo is one of the paradises that Molise offers! Still, composed, elegant, it stands on a promontory that, seen from the valley, seems to be the perfect guardian; but while you are on the plain down, in the Cartiera district, look out to see the Volturno waterfalls (photo). Resume climbing towards the town and you will discover the lake (photo) where you will also find a camping site (Oasi delle Mainarde) and a peaceful walk all around the lake passing on the dam itself. And finally go up to the country, which has now been awarded as 1 of the 5 Italian villages selected as a 'Friend Country', a title that honors the hospitality and cordiality experienced on site. From the main square you can admire the lake next to the village (photo) and you can look out over the whole plain of Rocchetta al Volturno and you will see the archaeological excavations of the ancient monastic community of the early Middle Ages besieged and put to fire and sword by the Saracens; but if you move to the lookout while walking through the village of the country, you can always admire the Abbey of San Vincenzo al Volturno and the wonderful Castle of Cerro Al Volturno in the Valley. In short, visiting this country will make you feel in the plains, in the hills, in the mountains, immersed in history and unspoiled nature and turning towards the Apennines will make you feel closer to the majesty of the Mainarde and the freshness of the Lazio Abbruzzo and Molise National Park where the country it's part.
