Il rifugio è aperto a tutti, dotato di caminetto... un ottimo appoggio per organizzare escursioni sulle vette del Pollino. Si tratta solo di un bivacco utilissimo come ricovero per una notte. Peccato che troppi escursionisti senza educazione e senza una etica della montagna lo lascino sporco, pieno di rifiuti e con vergognose firme incise alle pareti I put 1 star only because someone inexperienced does not believe that it is a 4-star shelter with air conditioning and hot water, bar, restaurant service, rooms with bed. Chi si occupa della manutenzione dovrebbe cercare di risolvere il problema. Inoltre il tavolo interno e pericolante e andrebbe buttata molta roba lasciata lì da altri viaggiatori. Altra cosa, non é molto grande. Una stanzina é adibita a sgabuzzino e l'altra stanza ha un grosso focolare al centro. Secondo me si riesce a dormire in massimo 6 persone stese a terra Beautiful hideaway in an exceptional location .... UNFORTUNATELY not usable for sleeping during the night as it is infested by mice in every corner. Maintenance personnel should try to solve the problem. C'è un camino ma bisogna procurarsi la legna. A 50 Mt c'è una sorgente d'acqua. Panorama fantastico sul monte Pollino! Ottimo anche per la vicinanza a un punto acqua indispensabile per le camminate in montagna. Si può dormire nella consapevolezza che altri camminatori potrebbero aggiungersi per riposarsi. L’esterno è munito di tavolo con sedute. Lo spazio antistante è frequentato da ovini che, con le loro campane appese al collo, fanno sentire la loro presenza. Il buon senso richiede che ogni visitatore lasci il posto migliore di come l’ha trovato. Per non parlare delle mandrie di cavalli selvatici che si aggirano lì intorno (è possibile per fino accarezzarli). L'unica pecca è che è impossibile dormire nel rifugio a causa dei topi. È un gran peccato dato il posto che permette un'esperienza significante. Wonderful place, with a spectacular view. Not to mention the herds of wild horses that roam around there (you can even stroke them). The only flaw is that it is impossible to sleep in the shelter because of the rats. It is a great shame given the place that allows a meaningful experience.

Non ci sono servizi di alcun genere. L'ingresso è libero e si può utilizzare il camino e i tavoli a disposizione. Ogni escursionista ha il solo onere di lasciarlo in condizioni migliori di come lo ha trovato e riportare i suoi rifiuti a valle. It is a "bivouac" house built by Pollino lovers who have strongly wanted to create a place of shelter and refreshment for hikers. There are no services of any kind. Admission is free and you can use the fireplace and tables available. Every hiker has the only burden of leaving him in better condition than he found him and bringing his waste back to the valley.

La strada per arrivarci è immersa nel bosco autunnale e all arrivo ci sono le mucche che accolgono i turisti per poi la sera vedere la galassia spettacolare. Poco più avanti dall arrivo si può trovare una sorgente di acqua potabile per riempire le borracce. La baita è provvista di un camino, una brandina, pentole, griglie, accendini per alimentare i falò sparsi per questo immenso prato con minicolline. È consigliabile però portare una tenda e dei sacchi a pelo. Sono rimasto senza parole Fantastic place to spend a weekend with the family.
