S	Sergio Marchionni on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ È un bivacco, non un rifugio. Ci sono solo dei letti a castello senza reti, ma con tavole e nulla di più. Ti può salvare la vita visto che le condizioni meteo a quella quota cambiano velocemente. Bella esperienza per pernotto, scomodo ma molto emozionante. Tramonti e albe strepitosi. Le temperature notturne anche ad agosto sono normalmente vicino a zero gradi. Non è per tutti, bisogna essere in buona forma per arrivarci e con buoni accessori. Non si deve prenotare, è sempre aperto, ma i posti letto sono limitati a 10. Chi primo arriva,bene alloggia! It is a bivouac, not a refuge. There are only bunk beds without nets, but with boards and nothing more. It can save your life as the weather conditions change quickly at that altitude. Nice overnight experience, uncomfortable but very exciting. Amazing sunsets and sunrises. Night temperatures even in August are normally close to zero degrees. It's not for everyone, you have to be in good shape to get there and with good accessories. It is not necessary to book, it is always open, but the beds are limited to 10. Those who arrive first, stay well!

Non ci sono comfort a parte un tavola per dormire e il riparo dall'immancabile vento, ma ne vale la pena, considerando il meraviglioso cielo stellato e l'esperienza di dormire in alta montagna A fabulous experience. The bivouac is well maintained, but naturally Spartan. There are no comforts apart from a table to sleep and shelter from the inevitable wind, but it is worth it, considering the wonderful starry sky and the experience of sleeping in the high mountains

Situato sulla vetta della seconda montagna più alta degli Appennini a 2790 metri, offre uno scenario unico, l'alba dalla vetta della Majella è qualcosa di incredibile! Al suo interno ci sono 10 posti letto (tavole), la struttura è fredda e benché ripara dai forti venti, non è ermetica. Si tratta di un bivacco d'alta montagna, dormire qui è un esperienza bellissima ma non per tutti; visti anche i recensori negativi alla quale mi sento di consigliare per la prossima volta, un caldo e comodo rifugio gestito... Spartan bivouac, uncomfortable and cold. Located on the top of the second highest mountain of the Apennines at 2790 meters, it offers a unique scenery, the sunrise from the Majella peak is something incredible! Inside there are 10 beds (tables), the structure is cold and although sheltered from strong winds, it is not airtight. It is a high mountain bivouac, sleeping here is a beautiful experience but not for everyone; also seen the negative reviewers to whom I would recommend for the next time, a warm and comfortable managed refuge ...

Essere lí di giorno o di notte è sempre un'esperienza! Duro da raggiungere, ma la fatica viene ripagata ampiamente. Non aspettatevi pulizia e lusso, del resto è un bivacco ed è a 2793 metri! It will certainly not be the 5-star hotel that many dream of, but it is a unique place that generates indescribable emotions ... Being there during the day or at night is always an experience! Hard to achieve, but the effort is amply rewarded. Do not expect cleanliness and luxury, after all it is a bivouac and is at 2793 meters!
A	Angelo Pompeo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bivacco che funge da punto d'arrivo per il famosissimo Monte Amaro. Grande il necessario per contenere circa 6/8 persone e termicamente abbastanza isolato. Ideale sarebbe sistemare qualche piccolo problema sorto con gli anni e a causa di qualche turista non proprio attento alla buona tutela della struttura. A parte ciò è un posto pieno di magia e penso abbia ospitato migliaia di persone negli anni. Paesaggio nemmeno a dirlo... Fantastico! Bivouac that serves as the arrival point for the famous Monte Amaro. Large enough to hold about 6/8 people and thermally insulated enough. Ideal would be to fix some small problems that have arisen over the years and due to some tourists who are not really careful about the good protection of the structure. Other than that it is a place full of magic and I think it has hosted thousands of people over the years. Landscape needless to say ... Fantastic!

Inizialmente costruito in pietra a secco e chiamato rifugio “Vittorio Emanuele II” fu distrutto definitivamente nel '44 dai tedeschi. Dopo circa vent'anni fu ricostruito sempre in muratura ma anche questa volta andò distrutto a causa durante la tempesta che si abbattè in zona a dicembre del '74. Nel 1979 due soci del CAI di Sulmona (L. Le Donne e L. Mininni) presentarono il progetto per la costruzione del bivacco attuale a forma geodetica composto da 105 pannelli triangolari in metallo. I lavori iniziarono nel 1981 e venne inaugurato il 18 Luglio 1982 in occasione XXV Raduno Interregionale e V Raduno Nazionale Giovanile del CAI. In ultimo vi lascio una frase: “Grazie a Dio gli uomini non possono ancora volare e sporcare i cieli così come fanno con la terra!” ... (Henry David Thoreau) A real bivouac whose history is rather troubled. Initially built in dry stone and called the “Vittorio Emanuele II” refuge, it was definitively destroyed in 1944 by the Germans. After about twenty years it was always rebuilt in masonry but also this time it was destroyed due to the storm that hit the area in December '74. In 1979 two members of the CAI of Sulmona (L. Le Donne and L. Mininni) presented the project for the construction of the current geodesic bivouac consisting of 105 triangular metal panels. The works began in 1981 and was inaugurated on 18 July 1982 on the occasion of the XXV Interregional Gathering and the V National Youth Gathering of the CAI. Al suo interno sono presenti 10 posti letto usufruibili da persone munite da sacco a pelo e ben coperte dato che la temperatura la notte scende parecchio. I sentieri per raggiungerlo sono parecchi e di varie difficoltà che partono da tutti i versanti del monte. Bivouac located a stone's throw from the cross representing the peaks of Monte Amaro. Inside there are 10 beds that can be used by people with a sleeping bag and well covered as the temperature drops a lot at night. The paths to reach it are many and of various difficulties that start from all sides of the mountain.

La struttura ha la forma di un grande igloo, ed ha al suo interno 10 posti letto, distribuiti su 4 letti a castello (2 da 2 posti e 2 da 3) e che consistono unicamente in delle assi di compensato. Fornisce un ottimo riparo dal vento, tuttavia di notte, anche ad agosto, la temperatura percepita può scendere facilmente sottozero, ed è quindi fortemente sconsigliato sostare senza essere attrezzati e forniti e contro le intemperie (almeno dei sacchi a pelo). It is the refuge on the highest point of the Maiella, at 2793m of altitude. The structure has the shape of a large igloo, and has 10 beds inside, distributed over 4 bunk beds (2 for 2 and 2 for 3) and which consist solely of plywood boards. It provides excellent shelter from the wind, however at night, even in August, the perceived temperature can easily drop below zero, and it is therefore strongly not recommended to stop without being equipped and supplied and against bad weather (at least sleeping bags).
