J	J J on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissimo posto, ci si arriva con meno di un oretta di camminata dalla strada sottostante, possibile arrivare anche dal sentiero sottostante la funivia che portava alle grotte del cavallone, nulla di impegnativo ed accessibile a tutti, con i loro tempi, il rifugio è tenuto in condizioni eccellenti grazie al cai del posto, si divide in due zone, una aperta a tutti ed una accessibile solo se presente un membro del cai a cui viene data la chiave, il rifugio ha una 20ina di posti letto, ci si può tranquillamente dormire tutto l'anno, poiché sono presenti due stufe, che riscaldano molto bene l'ambiente, e un camino, una delle due stufe è anche piano cottura, dal rifugio partono parecchie vie per i posti più belli delle Maiella, come monte Amaro e le altre vette attorno, se si va verso la valle, c'è un sentiero che collega con le grotte del cavallone, purtroppo chiuse al pubblico ora, ma posto stupendo. Dal rifugio la visuale è bellissima, come mostrano le foto che ho messo, quando il cielo è limpido è possibile vedere il mar adriatico chiaramente. Il rifugio è tenuto bene, pulito ed in ordine, anche fornito di legna per la stufa, la quale è fornita di un piano cottura. Piccola pecca di questa stufa, è che non riscalda sufficientemente la sala (ovviamente parlando per il periodo invernale). Nel complesso è un ottimo punto d'appoggio in cui sostare e riposarsi alla fine di un'escursione, e al tempo stesso ottimo punto di partenza per raggiungere le cime più alte della Maiella.
