Realizzata in stile barocco molto imponente ma meno appariscente delle chiese presenti più nel basso Salento, la si può osservare ed apprezzare all'esterno dal suo grande piazzale antistante, famosa e rinomata per avere la cupola più alta di tutte le chiese del territorio. L'interno con le sue tre ampie navate, trasmette il vero senso di maestosità. Molto ben conservata ed amata dai francavillese, orgogliosi di una realtà del genere che tanto affascina chiunque venga a visitarla. Sicuramente vale una visita Un tempo, ai tempi delle processioni, era previsto al ritorno della Madonna della Fontana in chiesa, al lancio della mongolfiera. Unica nota dolente, l'orrendo palazzo di fronte alla chiesa criticato dai tanti, Vittorio Sgarbi compreso. Visita consigliata per chiunque dovesse avere la possibilità di farlo.! In my opinion, the mother church represents the flagship of Francavilla Fontana. Built in a very impressive Baroque style but less striking than the churches found in the lower Salento, it can be observed and appreciated outside from its large square in front, famous and renowned for having the highest dome of all the churches in the area. The interior with its three large naves conveys the true sense of majesty. Very well preserved and loved by the Francavillese, proud of such a reality that so fascinates anyone who comes to visit it. Definitely worth a visit Once, at the time of the processions, it was expected to return the Madonna della Fontana to the church, to the launch of the balloon. The only sore point, the horrendous building in front of the church criticized by many, including Vittorio Sgarbi. Recommended visit for anyone who should have the opportunity to do so.!
M	Marco Baviello on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una chiesa molto bella, con prima costruzione del 1300 che comprendeva una cripta, successivi rimaneggiamenti nel 1500 come la costruzione della cupola, che risulta la più grande di tutti il Salento, con i suoi 13 metri di diametro trasverso, e la ricostruzione dopo il terremoto di Nardò del 1753 con facciata tipicamente barocca. Ai lati , sulla facciata, rispettivamente a destra è presente la statua di San Paolo, riconoscibile dalla spada, a sinistra San Pietro, con le chiavi in mano. all' interno finti marmi dipinti, una croce latina e molti affreschi e tele.
