Banca Cesare Ponti provides exchange rates for the main currencies on the market, at the current exchange rate and with a small commission. Without doubt the best choice for tourists, instead of the common change

Great currency exchange with a flat 10€ fee. Good rates. Not one of those tourist scam exchanges.

It doesn't provide traveler's cheque exchange service at all!! But the official website of American Express says so!! It is a huge disappointment!! And other places in around duomo charge nearly 20% commission fee. It has no difference from robbery!!!! Damn it, American Express!!

When you're in Naples, you can find a cash exchange business anywhere, and they offer really good rates. But not in Milano. The exchange rate on my recent trip was $1 = €0.88. And the exchange places near Duomo were quoting me €0.75-0.78. Screw that. The current POTUS is already screwing the country and (subsequently) the rates enough; I don't need the Italians to do that, too. My own Bank of America ATM card that doesn't charge additional fees when withdrawn through BNP Paribas (and there's a location near the Vencchi behind Vittorio Emanuele II) was still only giving me €0.84. Not bad, and certainly better than exchanging money back home in the States through Chase (€0.80) or BoA (possibly better rates but have to order 3 business days in advance at, I believe, €1,000 minimum). But €500 per day max. So let's look at Italian banks. Even the Bank of Siena doesn't exchange money. But this bank! This Banca Cesare Ponti will exchange any sum for a flat fee of €10 - at €0.8475. Yahtzee. So there you have it. The people are nice too - just avoid the lunch hour when it closes (I think it’s somewhere between 12:30-2:30). Prego.
