My husband and I were looking for a place to have lunch before visiting the Centrale Montemartini, and the Baccanale Ostiense was right next door. While I have to admit that my expectations were not very high - the restaurant was empty when we came in, which in my experience usually does not bode well - they were greatly exceeded.
Our host was very kind, giving appropriate suggestions such as starting with a plate of cold cheeses and meats before our meal, and the food was very good (the parmigiana in particular was excellent!), my husband enjoyed his wine and the prices were very reasonable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Superb service and a very stylish place. Not too crowded so it's perfect for a busy day in Rome. We had the vegan platters (there are several clearly marked vegan options on the menu) and they were very tasty.
The waiter actually picked the fruits and cut them after we ordered a fruit salad - this should be seen more often!
The bread is excellent as well!
Coffee is great so worth going just for a cup of coffea.
