★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Duilio e la sua officina delle meraviglie
Duilio Barcali è un vero personaggio fiorentino: "Coppola in testa, sigarello toscano in bocca e sguardo brillante".
Mi è stato presentato da Giovanni Pacetti, che come avete già letto in alcuni post fa, è un fiero proprietario di una 500 Steyr-Puch prima serie (1957) versione corsaiola.
Duilio è il meccanico preparatore di Giovanni e il loro è un sodalizio invincibile che li porta ad allearsi in prove cronometrate in salita dalle quali spesso escono vincitori.
Duilio sta trasformando in un vero "bolide mangia strada" l'ultimo acquisto di Giovanni, un'altra 500 Steyr-Puch D del 1966.
Tra le future meraviglie dell'autofficina Barcali troviamo anche la mia Froggy che sta subendo un approfondito restauro meccanico, visto che il precedente lavoro fatto dal meccanico di Brescia era stato a dir poco disastroso.....
Duilio and his workshop of wonders
Duilio Barcali is a true Florentine character: "Coppola in the head, a Tuscan cigarette in the mouth and a brilliant look".
It was presented to me by Giovanni Pacetti, who as you have already read in some post ago, is a proud owner of a 500 Steyr-Puch first series (1957) racing version.
Duilio is Giovanni's tuning mechanic and theirs is an invincible association that leads them to ally in uphill timed trials from which they often come out winners.
Duilio is turning Giovanni's latest acquisition, another 500 Steyr-Puch D from 1966, into a real "bolide eats street".
Among the future wonders of the Barcali workshop we also find my Froggy which is undergoing a thorough mechanical restoration, given that the previous work done by the Brescia mechanic had been nothing short of disastrous .....

In un paese civile artigiani come Duilio e credete qui a Firenze ce ne sono; sarebbero titolari di una cattedra universitaria, per tramandare il loro sapere
risorsa e ricchezza per tutta la comunita'.
Invece nella barba societa' in cui viviamo il suo sapere sparira' con lui
Mechanics like Duilio won't be born anymore.
In a civilized country artisans like Duilio and believe here in Florence there are; they would hold a university chair, to pass on their knowledge
resource and wealth for the whole community.
Instead in the beard society in which we live his knowledge will disappear with him
