Pretty sure my room had the nicest mattress I've ever slept on, and the pillows may have been "neck" pillows (good stuff for those afflicted with arthritis, like me!). I never figured out the shower, but I did get it to spray some water from all four nozzles. Reception was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I hadn't been to Italy for over 20 years, and believe it or not, pizza prosciutto still tastes exactly the same (tastes like the best pizza on the planet). My next trip will be 30 days trying to learn the language. Also, almost forgot: Parking in Monopoli is problematic. Make sure you read in detail the parking instructions the hotel sends you when you book your room (they go out of their way to assist, but it was still the most interesting parking experience I've ever had :-).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really pleasant stay. At first we thought it was a bit overpriced for a one night stay but our room with terrace and kitchen would have been perfect for multiple nights. And given that there is a free train station transfer, breakfast is excellent (and real value for money at €6. 50 each) and the reception staff are so incredibly friendly and helpful we totally would say that this is a bargain! Note that WiFi only got us 2-6 Mbps not enough to stream consistently in HD.
