Bellissimo edificio storico, ben tenuto con evidenti segni delle trasformazioni subite... “Casa“ di una vivace comunità parrocchiale (consigliata la messa festiva delle ore 10.30 animata dai ragazzi e giovani!).

Beautiful historic building, well maintained with evident signs of the transformations it has undergone ... "House" of a lively parish community (the festive mass at 10.30 animated by children and young people is recommended!).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La cattedrale romanica a tre navate, con l'alto campanile in mattoni, domina la piazza centrale di Albenga.
Le linee semplici, riemerse dopo importanti restauri che hanno eliminato gli elementi barocchi, sono impreziosite dai resti degli ampi affreschi e dal bel soffitto decorato.
Interessanti l'organo ligneo e il battistero, visitabile a pagamento assieme al museo diocesano.
The three-nave Romanesque cathedral, with its tall brick bell tower, dominates the central square of Albenga.
The simple lines, re-emerged after major restorations that eliminated the Baroque elements, are embellished by the remains of the large frescoes and the beautiful decorated ceiling.
Interesting are the wooden organ and the baptistery, which can be visited for a fee together with the diocesan museum.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stupenda Cattedrale ingauna che sorge nel centro storico di Albenga, di stile romanico, con inizio costruzione nel XII secolo. I lavori di restauro e consolidamento iniziarono nel 1937. All'interno sono conservate bellissime opere sia pittoriche che scultoree, per non parlare dei meravigliosi affreschi della volta, opera di Tommaso e Maurizio Carrega.
Stupendous ingauna Cathedral that rises in the historical center of Albenga, of Romanesque style, with beginning of construction in the XII century. The restoration and consolidation work began in 1937. Inside there are beautiful paintings and sculptures, not to mention the marvelous frescoes on the vault, the work of Tommaso and Maurizio Carrega.
