C	Cristina Catalano on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il battistero è della prima metà del v secolo, è paleocristiano ed è il monumento di quel periodo meglio conservato equiparato a quello del frejus. Manca la cupola che è stata distrutta per moda a quanto pare. Che danno sono riusciti a fare!!! Vi si accede da una scala che porta sotto il livello della strada di un metro cioè il livello della città nel v secolo. Nel museo ci sono altri reperti soprattutto di periodo romano. All'interno c'è un mosaico fatto con piccolissime tessere (così piccole che sembra un affresco), un lavoro veramente pregevole, che è riuscito ad arrivare fino ai giorni nostri. All'interno si possono ammirare la vasca ottagonale per il battesimo e, in una nicchia, un mosaico bizantino del V-VI secolo che raffigura la Trinità e gli Apostoli. In un'altra nicchia si trova un affresco romanico con Il Battesimo di Gesù. Vi sono inoltre tombe alto-medioevali con decorazioni. One tip: sometimes museum staffed with only one man, so if ticket office is closed see on the notes on the door - the tickets could be issued in Baptistery downstairs or in museum upstairs (ring the bell).
