a	andrea oliva on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Siamo arrivati per puro caso incontrando un chiostro di una bellezza sorprendente mentre un tenore faceva le prove e lo spazio che precede l'entrata in chiostro a fianco della chiesa risuonava delle melodie al pianoforte. Siamo stati molto fortunati a poter visitare per gentile concessione il chiostro che altrimenti sarebbe chiuso. V	Valeria Pepe on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ho messo 5 stelle sulla "fiducia".... nel senso che questa è la terza volta che visitiamo la Toscana. Credevo di aver visto tutto o quasi nella zona di S. Gimignano quando mio marito mi ha mostrato le foto di questo gioiello. Visto il sito e informati su giorno di chiusura ed orari ci siamo organizzati partendo presto visto che apre solo la mattina ma .... sorpresa delle sorprese abbiamo trovato un foglio con scritto"CHIUSO PER FERIE "!!!! Ma com'è possibile? In agosto con un sacco di turisti in giro? E la figuraccia con gli stranieri? Per forza che poi hanno motivi di prenderci per i fondelli. Abbiamo tesori in ogni angolo della penisola e chiudiamo per ferie in agosto e manco aggiorniamo il sito? Non mi sono arresa e ho telefonato in comune a Sovicille per chiedere spiegazioni: si sentiva il rumore delle unghie della poveretta che si arrampicava sugli specchi per scusarsi. Non ho parole.... per consolarmi sono tornata a visitare per la terza volta l"abbazia di San Galgano; sempre bella e suggestiva dove erano presenti ben 2 persone alla biglietteria. Che dire? Tanta delusione e per chi ci volesse andare riapre il 12 agosto? ma magari il sito nel frattempo è stato aggiornato ? I put 5 stars on the "trust" .... in the sense that this is the third time we visit Tuscany. I thought I saw almost everything in the area of S. Gimignano when my husband showed me the photos of this jewel. Given the site and informed about closing day and times we organized starting early as it opens only in the morning but .... surprise surprise we found a sheet with the words "CLOSED FOR HOLIDAYS" !!!! But how is it possible? In August with a lot of tourists around? And the fool with foreigners? Of course they then have reasons to take us for a ride. We have treasures in every corner of the peninsula and we close for holidays in August and we don't even update the site? I did not give up and telephoned in Sovicille to ask for explanations: we could hear the sound of the poor woman's nails climbing on mirrors to apologize. I have no words ... to console myself I went back to visit the Abbey of San Galgano for the third time, always beautiful and evocative where there were 2 people present at the ticket office. What to say? A lot of disappointment and for those who want to go there reopens August 12th but maybe the site has been updated in the meantime ?
A	A D on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Attenzione: l'abbazia e' sempre chiusa tranne la domenica mattina per la messa. Il chiostro ( privato) e' aperto solo due giorni: il lunedì dalle 9 alle 12 ed il venerdì dalle 9 alle 12. Il parcheggio vicino al chiostro/Abbazia ha pochissimi posti, quindi prestate attenzione Attention: the abbey is always closed except for Sunday mornings for mass. The cloister (private) is open only two days: Mondays from 9am to 12pm and Friday from 9am to 12am. The parking lot near the cloister / Abbey has very few places, so be careful

Peccato che incontrando una persona del borgo Torri ci ha detto chiaramente che i proprietari non hanno voglia di tenere aperto due volte a settimana... Tre stelle sulla fiducia per le bellezze toscane. We arrived here to visit the abbey and found the "Closed for restoration" sign. Too bad that meeting a person from Borgo Torri clearly told us that the owners don't want to keep open twice a week ... Three stars on trust for Tuscan beauties.

Solitudine, silenzio... è molto facile immedesimarsi nei monaci che vivevano qui mille anni fa (infatti, la prima attestazione risale al 1071). Non so adesso come sono gli orari di apertura, prima era il venerdì mattina, poi il custode è cambiato.. A giugno facevano anche i concerti, ma ora è cambiato anche questo. L'abbazia, invece, è sempre lì... a magical place. Solitude, silence ... it is very easy to identify with the monks who lived here a thousand years ago (in fact, the first attestation dates back to 1071). I don't know what the opening hours are now, first it was Friday morning, then the caretaker changed .. In June they also played concerts, but now that has changed too. The abbey, on the other hand, is always there ...
