They hand-made everything they sell in the little workshop at the back of the store, well not the Tuscany leather, but the paper, the binding, the marbling, the engraving, pretty much everything. After I purchased my little souvenirs the owner was so nice she suggested I take a look at how the books were made too. They also offer workshops on the subject from time to time, sadly I don't stay in Florence long enough to attend those. I had my friends' names engraved on their notebooks, and because it was quite a slow day they got my order done right away, in less than 10 minutes, and the owners even allowed me to see the engraving process, which was simpler than I thought, but not my any mean less nice. Imho this is a must for souvenirs from Florence, a perfect mix of Tuscany leather, paper, and traditional handcrafting.

Handbound in shop by the lady and her husband together in their on site workshop. Really stunning selection, also offering book restoration and such. The shop owners are so kind and even offer the option of embossing and personalising the book of your choice which was the cherry on top for me. Located on Borgo degli Albizi in Florence’s centre. I will return when I fill my new book!

Very much handmade books and related items, with seriously high quality craftsmanship--- Beautiful leather, cotton paper, awesome prices. Located between Santa Croce and San Ambrogio, a few steps from Cibreo. This is a new shop for Rita-- but she's been lovingly making books for many years.

I’ve been three times and best believe I will be going back again. The man is the sweetest owner in the world and he allowed me to watch as he engraved my initials! Please go and get the best journals of your life :)

After about a month and a half in Florence I've found that many book stationaries carry similar journals with nearly identical designs, but Abacus Firenze has all hand made unique journals! Also, this is the only store I've found that will personalize your journal by engraving your initials into the book if you ask! Its a lovely store with amazing customer service and one of a kind books. I highly recommend.

She found the best prices to ship the beautiful photo album to the US and the transaction went very smooth and quick!
