We were holidaying in Merano back in Oct, and the Zur Blauen was recommended to us by our hotel hosts, at the Villa Verde hotel nearby, and it absolutely didn't disappoint - top class rustic style food (I had the venison - sooooo tender - followed by a simply divine tarte tatin), top class service, and the Chef even came out to chat with us after the meal, a really lovely guy - will be back for sure and wish the team all the success for the future...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here at recommendation of our hotel, Villa Verde. Was our best meal in Italy during a 10 day trip, and incredibly good Northern Italian food. Presentation, ambience, service and actual food are all exceptional. Highlights included the venison and dumplings. Reminded us of the incredible Chef Carsberg and Bisato in Seattle (but this being at a much lower price point). Menu regularly rotates and will be back for future trips. Do yourself a favor and go. Reservations needed well in advance. Servers were very fluent in American English (in addition to Italian and German).
